Julie Kelsall

Head of Partner Success

As Head of Partner Success, I lead our team and we are all committed to ensuring that our partners (you!) and our students have the best experience with Tute.

My 15 years of experience as Head of Modern Foreign Languages mean that I understand both the challenges in education today and the value of Tute’s pedagogy.

Beyond education, I love building meaningful relationships with our customers. I’m a people person, so I genuinely enjoy engaging in conversations to understand your needs better.

To relax outside of work, I enjoy socialising, reading, crafts, and singing.

Daren Fairhurst

Partner Success Specialist

Before working for Tute, I was a teacher and head of department for 29 years teaching business and ICT courses across KS3-5. Many years of teaching experience has given me a unique insight into the challenges facing schools and staff currently.

I moved to Tute in 2019 and working here gives me an opportunity to use my knowledge and experience daily to support education settings and their students to reach their full potential through the advice and support I am able to give.

In my spare time, I enjoy philately and listening to music along with taking part in online quiz competitions.

Kate McCombe

Head of Partner Engagement

As a child I hated school so surprised myself by becoming a teacher. My career fast tracked me to headship of an SEMH school before a chance job offer took me to China and the world of business. My heart drew me back to improving outcomes for children, something Tute enables me to do daily. Meeting new customers, helping overcome their challenges, hearing their positive feedback and student success stories all fuel my passion.

Outside of work I’m often in the water outdoor swimming year-round, snorkelling, scuba diving or paddle boarding. I have a diploma in vegan nutrition and enjoy experimenting in my kitchen with foraged or homegrown ingredients.

Louise Skinner

Partner Engagement Specialist

New to Tute, I have 30 years classroom experience, both at home and abroad. I have taught a wide variety of subjects and have been a Director of Learning, working with a vast array of students with diverse needs and abilities.

As an Engagement specialist for Tute, I can offer you short or long-term solutions, enabling you to reach the best outcomes for your students with Tute in our purpose-built virtual, online classrooms.

Outside of work, I am happiest when all my family are gathered around, or spending time on holiday in Spain, enjoying tapas and sangria in the sunshine!

Christine Thomas

New to the team this year, I am excited to join Tute and am looking forward to supporting our partners! As your account manager, I bring with me 16 years of experience working in education as an exam officer, so I understand fully the challenges schools and teachers currently face.

Combined with an extensive background in customer services, I am dedicated to providing excellent support to schools and helping our partners choose the best curriculum to ensure pupil success.

During my spare time, I go on lots of adventures with my Romanian rescue dog Bella, play the piano and enjoy socialising.

Julie Hughes

My 12+ years as a business coordinator mean I am used to providing excellent support and communicating effectively.

Passionate about fostering positive learning experiences, I’m dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of students.

Outside work, I love camping, going on holidays, and cherishing moments with friends and family.

As an experienced educator, my passion is to see all students reach their full potential. I have worked in school settings as a teacher and assistant head for 16 years and so I understand the challenges facing schools with providing outstanding provision to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.

Working at Tute allows me to use my knowledge and expertise to ensure that your education setting can make the most of the tutoring provision we provide, ensuring all pupils succeed in education.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my animals on my small holding in the beautiful Welsh countryside.
