Safeguarding at Tute

At Tute, safeguarding is our highest priority. We are committed to ensuring your child learns in a safe, supportive, and structured online environment. Our safeguarding approach includes:

  • Designated safeguarding team – We have a designated safeguarding lead (DSL), a deputy DSL, and a wider safeguarding team who oversee all safeguarding concerns.
  • Safer recruitment – We follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2024 guidelines and ensure all staff are recruited through rigorous safer recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS screening.
  • Training – All our staff receive annual Level 2 safeguarding training, and our safeguarding team is trained to Level 3.
  • Risk assessments – We provide guidance on risk assessments for students learning from home, helping schools and local authorities identify and manage potential risks.
  • Online safety and cybersecurity – Our platform has secure logins, monitoring systems, and safeguarding alerts to keep your child safe while learning online.
  • Incident reporting – If a safeguarding concern arises during an online lesson, our team follows strict reporting procedures to ensure the right support is provided.
  • Supervision – While we provide a secure online learning environment, we encourage schools and local authorities to ensure appropriate supervision where needed. All lessons and platform interactions are recorded.
  • Working together – We work closely with schools, local authorities, and families to make sure your child receives the right support and protection.
  • Parental engagement – We keep you informed about safeguarding, online safety, and how you can support your child’s learning environment.

Key safeguarding resources for parents and carers

What is Prevent?
Prevent is part of the UK government’s strategy to keep children and young people safe from the risks of radicalisation and extremism. It aims to spot the early signs that someone may be vulnerable to harmful influence, whether that’s online or in the real world, and provide support before any harm is done. Prevent is not about criminalising young people or their families but about offering help and guidance when someone may be at risk. As parents and carers, your role is key in helping young people feel safe, heard, and supported.

What is ACT Early?
ACT Early is a national safeguarding programme that helps parents and carers recognise when a young person might be vulnerable to radicalisation. It offers clear advice, real stories, and practical steps for what to do if you’re worried without judgement or pressure. The aim is simple: to give families a safe way to act early and get support before any harm is done.

If you’re unsure what to look out for or just need someone to talk to, ACT Early can help you spot the signs and know what to do next.
