A message to you, from our MD

A busy term, with focus where it matters

January is a pivotal point in the academic year. For many partners, this is when pressure increases, with exams, options, transitions, and reintegration decisions starting to come into sharper focus.

This update reflects how Tute is approaching the term ahead: staying reliable at scale, listening carefully to students, and holding firm on the standards that underpin safe, consistent provision. These priorities shape how we work with partners and how we support the students we serve.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and trust,
Vanessa

Listening, learning and acting

Reflections from term 1 student voice

Students are the reason Tute exists, so their voices matter. We listen carefully to student feedback to understand how our provision is experienced, particularly by students who may be vulnerable or face barriers to learning.

In term 1,946 students shared their views. Alongside consistently strong responses across all areas, the most significant insight was the proportion of students who reported feeling safe in lessons and that their views were valued. In the current education landscape, this cannot be taken for granted, especially for students accessing more flexible or specialist provision.

What students tell us directly informs how we work. In response, we continue to treat safeguarding culture, consistency in teaching, and strong relationships as non-negotiables across our provision.

Attendance pressure is not easing

How partners can read attendance data with confidence

When attendance remains under pressure, it’s easy to focus on the numbers. But what if attendance isn’t the starting point? In this Hub post, Rob, Head of Teaching and Learning, explores why engagement must come first, what meaningful progress often looks like, and how partners can read attendance data with greater confidence.

Bett Awards 2026 finalist

Shortlisted alongside leading global EdTech organisations

We were proud to be shortlisted for Company of the Year at the Bett Awards 2026. While the award went to Promethean on the night, being named a finalist in such a strong field is a significant achievement.

The shortlist recognised organisations demonstrating impact, innovation, strong customer care and effective use of education technology. Being considered alongside global EdTech leaders reflects the quality, integrity, and consistency of the work we deliver with you, our partners, every day.

A milestone worth celebrating

Celebrating 9,000 lessons with Ifan

Ifan has been a teacher of maths with Tute since 2013. This half term, he reached a milestone of 9,000 lessons delivered.

At Tute, relationships matter. Our students tell us that what makes the difference is teachers who show up, build trust and take the time to know them. That’s what our teachers do every day, and it’s what Ifan has done consistently as a valued member of our teaching and learning team for more than a decade.

We are a team driven by a shared vision and values: to enable any child, anywhere, to achieve their potential. We show up for students, we provide a genuine alternative, and we’re able to do that because of teachers like Ifan, who bring that commitment into every lesson.

Thank you, Ifan, for the part you play in making Tute what it is.

“Tute has been amazing. When I first started in 2013, I never thought that we could affect so many students positively. Not just students from my area, but students from across the country – students who would not have the opportunities that we give otherwise.”
