Parent & Carer newsletter - end of term highlights December 2025

“A term of reflection, community, and supporting every child to thrive”

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of the year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the many ways our community has come together to support our children and young people. It has been a busy term filled with important conversations, learning opportunities, and moments of shared reflection.

Thank you, as always, for your continued engagement and support, it truly makes a difference.

Virtual coffee mornings - this term

It’s been fantastic to connect with so many of you through our virtual coffee mornings this term. These sessions are not just about sharing information, but about building a supportive community where parents and carers can come together, share experiences, and learn from one another in a safe and welcoming space. Many families face similar challenges, and these conversations remind us that no one is navigating them alone.

Throughout the term, we’ve explored a range of topics shaped by the real experiences of our families:

  • September: Easing the transition back to routine
  • October: Supporting mental health & wellbeing at home
  • November: School pressure, motivation & avoidance
  • December: Online safety & managing digital influence (This Friday!)

👉 Catch-up resources for all sessions are now available on the Parent & Carer Hub. so even if you couldn’t join live, you can still benefit from the discussions and shared insights.

Virtual coffee mornings - coming up

January: Parenting through cost-of-living pressures

February: Raising respectful, inclusive young people

We’d love to see you join us in the new year. These sessions are a great opportunity to connect with other parents and carers, share experiences, ask questions, and gain practical tips for supporting your child’s learning and educational development. Being part of this community can help you feel more confident and supported as you guide your child through the challenges and milestones of their learning journey.

Blogs and guidance - available now

This term, we’ve shared a range of blogs designed to support families with key challenges, offering practical advice, insights, and strategies you can use at home. These resources are not just about information; they’re about creating a connected community where parents and carers can feel supported and empowered in guiding their child’s learning and wellbeing.

Topics shared this term include:

  • ‘The Power of Good’ – reflecting on Anti-Bullying Week and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference
  • Online gaming safety – practical tips for keeping playtime positive and balanced
  • Supporting your child with anxiety – guidance to help children manage worries and build resilience

Coming next half term:

  • Suicide prevention
  • Managing online pressure and image consent

All blogs are available via the Parent & Carer Hub, so you can explore at your own pace and use them to support your child’s learning, wellbeing, and personal development.

PAPYRUS training and suicide prevention support

Our staff have taken part in specialist training with PAPYRUS, the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. This has strengthened our confidence and knowledge in supporting young people who may be struggling.

We encourage parents and carers to explore PAPYRUS’ newly launched guide for families, which offers clear advice, reassurance, and signposting to support:

PAPYRUS – New Guide for Parents

We will continue to share key takeaways and resources as part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing and safeguarding in the New Year.

Anti-Bullying Week: The Power of Good

10th–14th November

We were proud to take part in Anti-Bullying Week, focusing on how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Supporting your child to use their power for good:

Talked openly – Encouraged asking how children were feeling and listening without judgement
Knew the signs – Looked out for changes in mood, withdrawal, or reluctance to join lessons
Stayed informed – Used our guidance on how we respond to and prevent bullying
Encouraged kindness – Praised respectful behaviour online and offline
Reached out early – Contacted us if concerned, so we could support
Used trusted resources – Visited the Anti-Bullying Alliance for advice and guidance
Kept communication open – Maintained ongoing conversations, recognising that bullying can change form

Community and reflection

This term, our Tute community also came together to mark several important moments that encouraged reflection, kindness, and support for others:

  • A 2-minute silence for Remembrance Day – Students and staff paused to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding across our community.
  • Odd Socks Day – We celebrated individuality and diversity, encouraging students and staff to embrace what makes us unique while promoting awareness of inclusion and respect.
  • Children in Need – Our staff took part in activities in the office to raise funds for this important charity. Thank you to all families who supported this event, you may have seen some of our efforts on social media! This was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to support children in need across the country.

These moments not only raised awareness and supported charitable causes but also strengthened our sense of community and shared values, reminding everyone that small acts of reflection and kindness can make a real difference.

Safety Alert: TikTok “Tap Out Challenge”

We would like to remind families of a dangerous TikTok trend known as the “Tap Out Challenge.” This challenge poses serious risks and can result in loss of consciousness and injury.

Please take time to talk with your child about online challenges, peer pressure, and staying safe on social media. If you have concerns or would like support in starting these conversations, our team is here to help.

Thank you and season’s wishes

As the term comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for your trust, collaboration, and openness throughout the year. Working in partnership with families is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.

From all of us at Tute, we wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year 🎄✨

We look forward to continuing our work together in 2026.

Warmest regards,

The Parent Support Associate & Inclusion Team at Tute
