Supporting wellbeing, belonging, and connection

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of the first half of the spring term, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the conversations we’ve shared, the learning that’s taken place, and the ways we continue to support our students and families together.

This half term has centred strongly around wellbeing, belonging, and helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported both online and offline.

January virtual coffee morning: Parenting through the cost-of-living crisis

In January, we hosted a Virtual Coffee Morning focused on Parenting through the cost-of-living crisis. We know that many families are under real financial pressure, and this session was designed to acknowledge those challenges, explore how financial stress can impact children emotionally, and share practical ways to maintain emotional security, routines, and access support during difficult times.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed so thoughtfully. If you weren’t able to attend, you can catch up via the Parent & Carer Hub here: https://hub.tute.com/blog/2026/coffee-morning-catch-up-january-30th/

Coming up: Virtual coffee mornings

We’re looking forward to continuing these important conversations next half term:

February: Raising respectful, inclusive young people

March: Neurodiversity Celebration Week – understanding neurodivergent profiles, supporting families navigating assessments or diagnoses, and exploring how we can better understand children’s learning and behaviour

Dates and joining links will be shared via the Hub – we’d love to see you there!

Supporting children through difficult times

Following our recent PAPYRUS training, all staff have also completed additional suicide awareness training to strengthen our confidence in supporting young people during vulnerable moments.

We want to remind families that support doesn’t require expertise or lengthy training. There is a free, online suicide awareness course from the Zero Suicide Alliance that takes around 20–30 minutes to complete and is open to everyone.

Alongside this, we’ve published a new blog on the Hub:

💛 Supporting your child through difficult times
👉 https://hub.tute.com/blog/2026/supporting-your-child-through-difficult-times/

This blog offers gentle guidance, reassurance, and practical ways to support your child emotionally, while reminding parents and carers that you don’t have to do this alone.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 - “This is My Place”

This February, we marked Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, themed “This is My Place.” The theme focuses on helping children and young people feel they belong at home, in school, online, and in their wider communities.

To support this, we shared student resources and published a blog for families on:

📱 Managing online pressure and image consent
👉 https://hub.tute.com/blog/2026/managing-online-pressure-and-image-consent/

These resources encourage open conversations around online pressure, boundaries, and consent, helping young people feel safer and more confident in digital spaces.

Looking ahead: Blogs coming next half term

After the break, we’ll be sharing new blogs and guidance on:

  • Isolation and loneliness

  • Social media behaviour and navigating online interactions

These topics are often closely linked to wellbeing, confidence, and belonging, and we hope they’ll provide useful support for families.

Safeguarding update: Tackling misogyny

Our Safeguarding Team has recently completed NSPCC masterclass training on Tackling Misogyny. Next half term, we’ll be translating this learning into practical guidance and resources for families, helping everyone better understand harmful influences online and how to challenge them safely and constructively.

Teaching Awards 2026 – SEND & Inclusive Practice

We’re proud to share that we’ll be entering the 2026 Teaching Awards – Award for SEND and Inclusive Practice, which recognises organisations that support children and young people with additional needs in inclusive, thoughtful, and compassionate ways.

As part of our submission, we’re able to include reflections from parents and carers. Hearing directly from families is incredibly important to us, and we would be honoured if you felt able to contribute.

If you’d like to take part, this could be a short-written reflection (just a few sentences is absolutely fine) sharing:

  • What has worked well for your child
  • How our support has helped your child or family
  • Anything you feel reflects inclusive or SEND-focused practice

If you’d like to contribute or would like more information, please email:

Join our Parent & Carer Panel

We’re still developing our Parent & Carer Panel – a space for parents and carers to share feedback, ideas, and perspectives directly with us.

You don’t need any special expertise, just a willingness to share your views and help us keep students at the heart of everything we do.

Safety alert: Fake “Celebrity Meet and Greet” websites

We want to remind families about a current online safety concern identified by the Education Safeguarding Team.

There has been an increase in fake websites claiming to offer children the chance to meet or chat with celebrities. These sites are not genuine and are designed to lure children into online spaces where unknown adults can initiate contact.

These imitation “celebrity meet and greet” sites pose serious risks, similar to random video chat platforms. While they may appear child-friendly, they can expose children to grooming and exploitative behaviour.

Open conversations, active supervision, and curiosity about the platforms children are using remain key to keeping them safe online.

The Parent & Carer Hub remains your go-to space for:

• Updates and guidance from the Inclusion and Safeguarding teams
• Blogs on wellbeing, online safety, and learning
• Resources to support conversations at home
• Easy ways to contact us

We’d love your feedback

We’re always looking to improve and make sure our support truly meets the needs of families. To help us do that, we’d really value hearing your thoughts about your experience with Tute. Your feedback helps shape our services, resources, and future planning and plays an important role in ensuring we continue to support children and families in the best possible way.

The form is quick to complete, and all responses are confidential.
