The FIFA World Cup 2026 is an exciting time for many families, bringing communities together and creating lasting memories. However, major sporting events can sometimes increase stress, heightened emotions and alcohol consumption, which may place some children and families at greater risk. We encourage all parents and carers to be mindful of the impact that arguments, conflict and harmful behaviours can have on children. If you are concerned about your own safety or that of someone close to you, support is available. Children who witness domestic abuse are victims too, and help is always available.
